Julian TszKin Chan is a Principal and Lead Data Scientist in the Finance practice at Bates White Economic Consulting. He has significant experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses in support of expert economic testimony, including econometric modeling, Monte Carlo simulation, damages estimation, statistical sampling, and processing big data. Dr. Chan is an experienced researcher with interests in applying econometric, big data, machine learning and natural-language processing methods to analyze economic phenomena, including questions related to social networks, social media, and cryptocurrencies.

Weifeng Zhong is a Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. His work focuses on bridging the field of natural language processing and machine learning to economic policy studies. His other research interests include political economy, US-China economic relations, China’s economic issues, and fairness in artificial intelligence applications. He has been published in a variety of scholarly journals, including the Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics. His research and writings have been featured in the Financial Times, Foreign Affairs, The National Interest, Politico, Real Clear Markets, Real Clear Politics, the South China Morning Post, and The Wall Street Journal, among others. He has a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in managerial economics and strategy from Northwestern University. He also holds M.Econ. and M.Phil. degrees in economics from the University of Hong Kong and a B.A. in business administration from Shantou University in China.
Kwan-Yuet “Stephen” Ho, PhD (Email: KwanYuet.Ho [AT] leidos.com) - Kwan-Yuet “Stephen” Ho is a Data Scientist at Leidos. He was previously a Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One and a Research Scientist in General Dynamics IT. He is an expert in machine learning and text mining. He has a PhD in physics from University of Maryland, and a BSc in physics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Kit Lee, PhD - Kit Lee is a data scientist located in Cambridge, MA.
Kawai Leung, PhD - Kawai Leung is an independent researcher in machine learning with previous experience in developing Natural Language Processing solutions for cybersecurity problems.
Christine McDaniel, PhD - Christine McDaniel is a Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center. Her research focuses on international trade, globalization, and intellectual property rights. She has held several positions in the U.S. government, including Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Treasury Department and senior trade economist in the White House Council of Economic Advisers, and has worked in the economic offices of the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Trade Representative, and U.S. International Trade Commission. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado, and received her B.A. in Economics and Japanese Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
